Hartford Business – QU Coders Take Home $15k in Competition


Two teams of Quinnipiac University students won a total of $15,000 at a recent computer science contest in New York City, the school announced.

The awards were presented April 30 at a “Dream it. Code it. Win it.” event, launched by TradingScreen, the MIT Club of New York and The MIT Enterprise Forum of New York City to reward creativity and diversity in the computer science field.

A team of Quinnipiac students who developed an online service called Kricket won the third-place $10,000 prize.

Meanwhile, sophomore Gabriela Gualpa won a $5,000 innovation prize for her web app Unbreak, which streamlines tenants’ work requests for property managers.
